Family Groups

Home-Start Guildford provides Family Groups at Pirbright and Guildford for referred families, as well as two additional groups, one specifically for families with babies under 12 months (Baby Bubble Group) and one that provides an opportunity for parents to enjoy some exercise activities led by a personal trainer (Get Active with Your Little One).

Each session is run by a member of Home-Start staff and assisted by volunteers who offer an excellent range of age appropriate activities for you to share with your child, developing them and your relationship with each other and visits from other professionals to offer advice and guidance at various times. It’s a great chance for parents to meet others, share ideas and make new friends. Simple refreshments are available for you and your children.

The Pirbright group meets on a Tuesday at the Pirbright Community Centre

The Guildford Group meets on a Thursday at the Guildford Family Centre, Hazel Avenue.

If you would like to join us, you can either complete a simple self referral form (available here) or you can speak to any early years professional who can make a referral for you (e.g. Health Visitor, Family Centre worker or family support worker).

Please note that attendance at the Family Group is by referral only. If you are a professional and know a family who would benefit from attending then please discuss this with them and then complete our referral form, indicating GROUP ONLY. Families can also refer themselves. You can submit an online form or download a copy on this page. Please call the office for further information or if you need any support to complete the form.
