Celebrating Women in STEM and Supporting Local Families
We were delighted to have been the chosen charity for this year’s celebration of Women in STEM, held at De Vere Horsley Estate on Tuesday.
The event brought together inspiring women from across a range of STEM professions for an afternoon of networking, discussion and shared experiences, while raising awareness of the importance of confidence, resilience and opportunity.
A special thank you to Jane Tyson, Mayor of Guildford, for welcoming guests and highlighting Home-Start Guildford as one of her chosen charities. We are incredibly grateful for her ongoing support. 💜
Our thanks also go to Anna Coates, Kate Shaw and the team at De Vere Horsley Estate for selecting Home-Start Guildford as their charity partner and for hosting such a fantastic event.
We were particularly proud to see our Trustee, Vicky Roberton, sharing her experiences as part of the panel discussion alongside other distinguished women working in STEM.
We were also delighted to be joined by Sarah Hammond, author of The Adventures of Petie. Sarah kindly took time to sign copies of her book during the event, and we’d like to thank everyone who purchased a copy. Your generosity is greatly appreciated and helps us continue making a difference to local families.
The event was full of inspiring conversations about confidence, resilience and the importance of believing in what we’re capable of. Those messages are at the heart of what we do every day, supporting families to build confidence and move forward through challenging times.
Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the event such a success. Together, we’re helping to build stronger futures for local families.
