It was that time again, Home Start Guildford held its annual Steam Train Day at Guildford Model Engineering Society – where all our families were invited to come along and spend time on the steam trains at the Stoke Park Railway. With no rain forecasted (but who can predict the British weather), the day began with some of our Volunteers joining the staff to help set up what was a fantastic day! With the gazebos, a bouncy castle, a football pitch and face painting areas all set up – it was time for our families to arrive! Both children and parents got enjoy some quality time with the volunteers, speaking to the staff and the trustees, and most importantly – plenty of trips on the Steam Train!
A BIG THANK YOU to all volunteers, staff and trustees who donated some delicious homemade cakes, cookies and biscuits! We were really humbled by the sheer amount that were made and brought in. They were greatly received by our families and by us all. I think we can all agree when we say, we are very thankful to have such amazing volunteers!
