Triumph at the ‘Together Ball’ as Home-Start Guildford raises £125,000 for local families

Home-Start Guildford proudly announced today the remarkable success of its inaugural ‘Together Ball’ held on Friday night at G Live, raising an impressive £125,000 in the face of challenging times for charitable funding. With a commitment to supporting hundreds of families in the Guildford region, the funds garnered will not only sustain current services but also pave the way for crucial expansion.

The ‘Together Ball,’ a sell-out event that drew over 400 esteemed guests and philanthropists, unfolded as a night of entertainment, gastronomic delights, and, most importantly, fundraising. The evening showcased over 44 silent auction prizes, while local celebrity Peter Gordon led spirited bidding for three exclusive, money-can’t-buy prizes – a luxurious holiday house, an exhilarating flight on a Red Arrows jet, and a limited edition piece from Vanleles Jewellery, a brand loved by Home-Start supporter, The Princess of Wales.

Against a backdrop of sensational performances by Django’s Jive, The Accidentals, and The Beat Freaks, attendees enjoyed a sumptuous three-course dinner before being moved by a touching account from Amy. She shared how Home-Start volunteer Julie provided invaluable support during challenging times, emphasising Home-Start’s role as the critical bridge between social care and families navigating the complexities of early childhood.

The night concluded on a euphoric note with legendary DJ Danny Rampling, whose beats had guests on their feet, celebrating the collective triumph of a community rallying for a vital cause.

Also in attendance were Deputy Mayor, Councillor Sally Barker MBE, His Honour Christopher Critchlow DL, The Rt Hon Anne Milton, Oliver Hutley, and Suzanne Neville.

Sabine Bates, Home-Start Trustee and Ball Chair, expressed her gratitude, stating, “Charities like Home-Start thrive on community support, and the success of the inaugural ‘Together Ball’ not only secured crucial funds but also underscored the unwavering commitment of businesses and individuals to champion their local charity. The ripple effect of this generosity will touch the lives of hundreds of families.”
